THE NEW MANILA ZOO!

Upon its reopening last December 2021, Manila Zoo showed us what makeover is! And this 2022, we all have the chance to see its beauty in person.

Nostalgic childhood memories no more, because Manila Zoo (Asia’s oldest Zoo) is making a comeback with its major glow-up carrying its former branding as Manila Zoological and Botanical Garden.

It was in 2019 when the tourist attraction was indefinitely closed down for rehabilitation but after nearly three years of waiting, at last! We can now enjoy the beauty of nature through this almost five-hectare man-made facility.

Before the year ends, Manila Mayor Isko Moreno teased the public with a sneak peak of Manila Zoo as they posted photos of it on the official Manila Public Information page.

And in the same month last year, Manila Zoo made its official soft opening for the 1,300 construction workers of Manila Zoo including their families. Featuring new renovations like glass enclosures for the animals, the Animal Museum, the Botanical Garden, the Butterfly Garden, veterinary clinic, souvenir shop, coffee shop, and many more!

We can also see Mali there! The one and only elephant here in the Philippines that was gifted from Sri Lanka. She was only three-years old then, and now? She’s 48!

“Bukas na po ang Manila Zoo.”

The number of people allowed to enter in a day and as well as the time it will open and close is still to be announced. But the Mayor revealed that it is in fact open on evenings just like the famous Singapore Zoo where Night Safari is.
