Team Secret ended their Valorant Champions 2021 after falling short to European squad Ascend, 2-0, in the quarterfinals early Thursday morning (Manila time).

All-Filipino Valorant squad Team Secret saw their Champions: Berlin campaign to an end, placing at 7th to 8th places of the biggest Valorant tournament in the world.

Ascend made their presence be felt as it aggressively dominated early in the match by taking five rounds in succession in the Icebox map.

Team Secret managed to steal a couple of rounds but the European squad kept on catching Team Secret off guard and delivering clutch play after clutch play to take the match, 13-8.

It was the same story in the second round in Breeze as it took five consecutive round wins with Team Secret trading back two rounds of their own.

Hoping to force a decider, Ascend quickly dispatched Team Secret, 13-6, and sealed their semifinals slot in the tourney.

The Philippine and Southeast Asian champions Team Secret, who was seen as a dark horse starting the competition, delivered a great feat that exceeded expectations by analysts and casters by entering the Top 8.

Team Secret ends their Valorant Champions title bid between fifth and eighth place and will take home $40,000 (approximately more than P2 million).
