CHERRY NUNAG SIGNS WITH YOUTHFUL CHOCO MUCHO AHEAD OF NEW PVL SEASON
Choco Mucho has signed Cherry Nunag to fill in the absence of Maddie Madayag ahead of the new Premier Volleyball League’s (PVL) second pro season slated next February next year.
The 5-foot-11 middle blocker is the second Perlas Spiker to join the Flying Titans after seasoned veteran setter Jem Ferrer, which was made official on Monday.
“Welcome home, Cherry Nunag,” read the team’s statement.
“We’re excited to see you play alongside the “Towers” of the team,” the statement added.
Nunag, the 2nd Best Middle Blocker in the 2019 Reinforced Conference, will carry the expectation to plug the holes left by Madayag, who is still recovering from an ACL injury she sustained in the previous conference.
Moreover, Nunag will also provide championship experience where she played a vital role in the Angels’ stellar run in the 2019 Reinforced Conference.
The 29-year-old Nunag will solidify the frontline of Choco Mucho that already has Bea De Leon and Kat Tolentino.
The Flying Titans recently finished fourth in the first pro-season of PVL, after bowing down to eventual champion Chery Tiggo in the semis, then Petro Gazz in the battle for third.
