CAELAN TIONGSON TO MAKE BACK IN SPORTS SCENE WITH T1’S TAOYUAN LEOPARDS
After hanging the jersey two years ago, former Alab Plipinas player Caelan Tiongson will make a comeback but this time under the banner of Taoyuan Leopards in Taiwan.
The 29-year old Tiongson is set to revive his professional basketball career in which the new development has been announced by Taoyuan Leopards.
“Choosing #0 as his jersey number to signify his new start in Taiwan basketball, Tiongson hopes to make Taiwan his second home and further pursue his basketball dream here with the Taoyuan Leopards,” said in a statement.
The 6-foot-5 Tiongson’s addition to the club marked the second Filipino to join the league following the fellow Alab alum Jason Brickmanwho now plays for the Kaohsiung Aquas.
“Here we go again,” said Tiongson.
Currently, the T1 league has six teams on the list in which a total of two Asian, Chinese, or naturalized players may be signed by one squad.
Also, T1 clubs are limited to playing their Asian player for just two quarters, or a total of 20 minutes, as opposed to B.League teams.
