PUBLIC school teachers will receive P1,000 as World Teachers’ Day incentive after this was approved by President Rodrigo Duterte.

The Department of Education said that giving the incentive is in line with the government’s commitment to support teachers for their dedication in delivering quality education.

It said that government recognizes the vital role of educators in ensuring learning continuity amid the pandemic.

“With the ongoing preparations for School Year 2021-2022, we are grateful to our 900,000-strong teachers who have displayed their unwavering passion to serve and educate the Filipino youth,” DepEd said in a statement.

It added that corresponding guidelines on the release of the incentive will be announced soon.

The total amount of the incentive for the said grant is P910 million.
