Have you ever wondered if your lola had a dream of being seen on television? Maybe now is the right time to ask her; Walt Disney Studios is reportedly looking for a Filipina grandmother for an upcoming film!

In a casting call posted on Project Casting, casting director Sarah Finn is looking for 50 to 90 years old female applicants who speak fluent English and comfortable traveling on a plane to Atlanta, Georgia, where the filming location is.

“We are committed to diverse, inclusive and authentic casting. We highly encourage performers who are Filipino or of Filipino descent to apply,” the job post read.

“For every role, please submit qualified performers, without regard to disability, race, age, color, national origin, sexual orientation or gender identity, or any other basis prohibited by law, unless otherwise specifically indicated,” it added.

The audition is open to everyone as applicants do not need to have any background in acting! The job post stressed that the applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.

“No professional acting experience is required, but the applicant must speak English fluently and be comfortable traveling on a plane to Atlanta. They also should be currently authorized to work in the United States either a US citizen, a green card holder, or an O-1 visa holder,” it said.

We will be reviewing videos the first week of January and will email anyone we’d like to invite to audition!” it added.

Disney has yet to disclose the title of the movie, but rumor has it that this will be for Spiderman 3 which is now being filmed in Atlanta.

The role could be related to Filipino-American actor Jacob Batalon who has been casted as Ned Leeds, the best friend and classmate of Peter Parker.

“ If I would have more time, I’d love to collaborate with you all. I feel like it would be a fun project for us to do–I have to say everyone here is so lovely… I noticed that famous people here are really good-looking. I am really enthralled right now,” Batalon said in a media briefing hosted by GMA.

The audition already caught the attention of many Filipinos including veteran actress Gina Pareño.

“I a‘m sure maraming may gustong mag audition sa Disney. At madami talagang magagaling na artistang Pinoy. Kung sino man ang makukuha nila, pride pa din natin yun. Kasi finally, Filipinos and our culture are being represented internationally,” she said in an Instagram post.
