NU STAYS UNDEFEATED AFTER SWEEPING LA SALLE IN A THREE-SET MATCH

The Bulldogs seized the first salvo in the first set after a misreceive of the Green Archers off an attack and Princess Robles led NU by breaking the first rally in the first set, 6-4. The Bulldogs’ double substitution finished the first frame with Erin Pangilinan’s attack, 25-21.

La Salle tried to retaliate in the second set with five points advantage over NU 12-7 but Alyssa Solomon pierced the zones of Archers but that was not enough to stop the green and white squad as they pushed for a 20-18 advantage.

Nevertheless, Robles poured a powerful attack to tie at 20 and made a dump at match point, 25-20.

The third set was no different as the Bulldogs enjoyed numerous service aces from Bella Bellen and the foolproof service of Sheena Toring to end at 25-17.

Lady Bulldogs head coach Karl Dimaculangan said after the match that his team stuck to their game plan and is fortunate that his players executed the same very well.

“Na-execute namin din pati yung pattern namin sa defense so naging effective siya against La Salle.”

NU will next play against the University of the East (UE) today while DLSU will face the University of Santo Tomas (UST).
