NASH RACELA TAKES OVER ADAMSON FALCONS’ HEAD COACH POSITION
The Adamson Soaring Falcons have officially announced Nash Racela’s appointment as the team's new head coach.
The university made an announcement on Wednesday on social media, months after Racela’s departure from his pro coaching post with PBA team Blackwater.
“For months, countless rumors have swirled about his next destination after his exit from his previous team, and now, we confirm and announce that Mr. Raoul Cesar ‘Nash’ Racela… has landed in San Marcelino and will be the new head coach of the Soaring Falcons,” Fr. Aldrin Suan, CM, Office for Athletic Development Director stated in a memo posted on the Adamson University’s official social media pages.
Racela will be joined by his former Bossing deputies Rommel Adducul, Ryan Betia, Gilbert Lao, and Benjie Sipin as assistants in the Soaring Falcons helm.
“His excellent track record in the collegiate and professional ranks were indeed, considered. However, the main telling point is that his fatherly and gentle demeanor and coaching style fits the direction that we want for our men’s basketball program,” the memo read.
“We always prioritize our players’ development as athletes, but we would also like to put a premium on their growth as individuals, in coach Nash’s words, their maturity from boys to men.”
Before his pro coaching stint, Racela coached San Beda Red Lions in the NCAA and Far Eastern University.
Racela was responsible for the Tamaraws’ title victory over the University of Santo Tomas during the UAAP Season 78.
He also coached the national team that competed in the 2016 Southeast Asian Basketball Association (SEABA) Cup.
Adamson hopes to return with a bang after their failed attempt to secure a spot in the Final Four in UAAP Season 82 and ended with a 4-10 record.
