Deped and NAS have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in which specialized teachers for Mathematics, Science, English, Filipino, Araling Panlipunan, Edukasyon sa Pagpapakatao, Technology and Livelihood Education, and Music, Arts, Physical Education, and Health will be selected from nearby school division offices.

Teachers will be trained and eventually deployed in the NAS system for one school year, according to DepEd regional director May Eclar.

According to NAS Executive Director Josephine Joy Reyes, the academy will provide possibilities for teachers’ learning and development while they are in detail at the academy.

NAS was established as an associated DepEd institution in close collaboration with the Philippine Sports Commission under Republic Act No. 11470, with the goal of training more future world-class Filipino athletes and encouraging young interest in sports.
