The 6-2 forward starred in the Fighting Maroons’ strong start with 11 points but suffered an injury scare in the third quarter after a collision with Ateneo’s Chris Koon that saw him stretchered off the court.

UP camp has not yet issued an official medical bulletin, but reports said that Cansino was seen leaving the arena after the game without any assistance.

Cansino is required to undergo an MRI to determine the extent of the injury which determined that the right knee was affected in the collision.

Back in 2018, Cansino suffered an ACL injury on his left knee against the UP Maroons that ended his rookie season with the Growling Tigers

The UP community now is hoping for the best as the second-seeded and twice-to-beat UP Maroons faces third-seeded La Salle starting on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, top seed and defending champion Ateneo will head up against fourth-seeded Far Eastern University in the other semifinal.
