The Lady Falcons took charge to get the first set but the Fighting Maroons tied the set score 1-1 after Adamson gave the first ball too close to the net allowing Jai Atienza of UP for a surprise attack.

Adamson pushed their momentum with a vital 25-22 third-set escape to break a 1-1 deadlock and entered the fourth and last frame with a massive 21-10 start, capped by a Trisha Genesis push assault.

The Maroons tried to rally back capped by a 5-1 run attempt to draw within 15-22, but it was not enough until Genesis sealed the deal with one final off-the-block hit for a 25-17 victory.

Genesis paced Adamson with 18 points, all from attacks, along with 13 excellent receptions and 12 excellent digs, while Rizza Cruz added 12 while May Ann Nuique had 11 points off the bench.

Alyssa Bertolano led UP with 22 points off 19 attacks and three aces, while Jewel Encarnacion and Stephanie Bustrillo scored 13 and 11, respectively.

As Adamson improved to a 7-6 record to tie for fourth place with the reigning champion Ateneo Blue Eagles, the team will meet La Salle on Thursday in its last elimination game; meanwhile, UP dropped to a 5-8 slate and will face Ateneo on the same day.
