ABADIANO, ALARCON EYE ANOTHER TITLE AS UP PARTICIPATES IN UAAP 3X3 TOURNEY

The University of the Philippines (UP) Fighting Maroons, led by Gerry Abadiano and Harold Alarcon, will compete in the basketball UAAP 3x3 men’s basketball tournament on Thursday at CaSoBe in Calatagan, Batangas.

After winning the men’s basketball title last month, UP is now aiming for a golden double with the presence of Abadiano, who represented the country in the FIBA 3×3 U18 Asia Cup in 2019, and will be joined by Alarcon, AJ Madrigal, and Brix Ramos.

Meanwhile, Ateneo who came second against UP in last month’s men’s basketball competition will try to regain their name and defend the crown it won in 2018 with Chris Koon, Geo Chiu, Inand Fornillos, and JC Fetalvero on the list.

Meanwhile, the Green Archers will be bannered by Chris Koon, Geo Chiu, Inand Fornillos, and JC Fetalvero.

This will be the first time that 3×3 is included in the general championship in the UAAP wherein the top four teams, after finishing the single-round eliminations, will compete in the semifinals and championship on the same day.

The University of Sto. Tomas will also join the one-day competition with Sherwin Concepcion, Nic Cabanero, Bryan Santos, and Royce Mantua, with Ian Herrera as a reserve.

Other Universities will be also seen in action as Far Eastern University has Patrick Sleat, Ximone Sandagon, Joseph Celzo, and Rodel Gravera with Aeron Bagunu and Reymark Rosete as reserves.

Meanwhile, Adamson has Joshua Yerro, Jhon Calisay, Joseph Fuentebella, and Ivan Maata, with brothers Vince and Wilfrey Magbuhos as reserves; and National University has Jolo Manansala, Germy Mahinay, Patrick Ramos, and Terrence Crisostomo with Jake Figueroa as reserves.
