YUKA SASO ENDS UP IN FOURTH BEHIND LYDIA KO; SHOWS MUTUAL ADMIRATION FOR EACH OTHER
Filipino teen golf Yuka Saso fired a closing 71 and dropped from solo third, giving the place to Lydia Ko of New Zealand in the Ladies Professional Golf Association’s (LPGA) Lotte Championship at the Kapolei Golf Club in Hawaii.
Saso dropped four bogeys (five strokes for four par) and only three birdies (three strokes to finish four par) that stemmed to 71.
The Fil-Japanese had an outstanding start-up play after having a two-shot lead against Ko but eventually fell under the radar after missing 1 hole which she bogeyed against a successful birdie of Ko.
While Lydia Ko who snatched the third spot said in an interview with the Golf Channel “She has a beautiful swing and very powerful but at the same time, she hits it super straight.”
“She managed to shot under-par today. She has been super impressive to watch,” the 23-year-old former world No. 1 professional golfer added.
On the other hand, Saso affirmed that she was able to learn a lot from the third round battle that made her really thankful and happy.
“She played really good today. Her putting, her stroke is really good and her tempo is very consistent,” Saso propounded on her encounter with Ko.
Nonetheless, the game is still not over as the fourth and final round of the Lotte Championship is set to see in action today.
