UP OPENS DILIMAN COMMUNITY PANTRY; PLAYERS EXTEND HELPING HAND

The Isko and Iska players of the University of the Philippines (UP) showed compassion to the needy as they extended their hand to a community pantry inside its main campus, Diliman.

The community pantry was initiated by the UP Transport Group with the help of NowheretogobutUP Foundation’s Renen Dalisay and Atty. Gaby Concepcion of Sama-Sama Tulong-Tulong.

Many of the players who extended their help were Bismarck Lina and Maodo Malick Diouf, who gave their donations last Wednesday.

Moreover, not only did the player give their donations but helped as well in distributing the goods to the less fortunate in the pantry located at UP’s Quirino Avenue gate.

With a hashtag #UPFIGHT, the UP Men’s Basketball Team also showed its support to the community pantries and to all the UP Diliman jeepney drivers on their Facebook page.

Mabuhay ang mga tsuper at ang mga community pantry!” the post stated.

While group member Renan Dalisay shared to Rappler that the distributed vegetables were purchased to Sagip Saka.

“In this way, we also help our farmers. Some UP Basketball athletes volunteered in distributing goods earlier to the community pantry of the displaced UP Ikot jeepney drivers,” he propounded.

#SamaSamaTulongTulong #nowheretogobutUP,” Dalisay posted in his FB account.
