The partnership between the two esports giants was announced via a press conference entitled “Nexplay Uncovered” last Saturday.

“This partnership is formed mainly because of our vision together. For Nexplay, our mission is about helping gamers succeed alongside EVOS’ vision of making dreams a reality for a lot of gamers,” said Nexplay CEO and founder Gabriel Benito.

EVOS is returning to the MPL-PH arena after a two-year absence following the team’s early playoff exit back in Season 4.

“We definitely left the Philippines with a heavy heart but we knew in our hearts that we’ll be back when the time is right, and we believe that this is it, right?,” EVOS co-founder Hartman Harris.

During the conference, a teaser video was also revealed that Nexplay’s “big three” in Tristan “Yawi” Cabrera, Renejay “Renejay” Barcarse, and John Paul “H2wo” Salonga will remain in the roster for the upcoming season.

However, no information about the other members of the squad has been released.

Nexplay Esports finished the Season 7 regular season in fourth place in Group B with a 6-7 record, suffering back-to-back first-round elimination in the playoffs.

With its partnership with EVOS, expectations are high for the team as the Indonesia-based organization boasted three established teams—EVOS Legends, EVOS SG, and Suhaz EVOS—and several local champions across the Southeast Asia region.
