THE NATIONAL Collegiate Athletic Association formally unveiled Season 102 during a press conference Monday, Aug. 31, at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

NCAA Chairman Jonas Cabonchan and NCAA Commissioner Atty. Rico Paolo Quicho were among the league officials who attended the formal press launch, where they discussed the upcoming season and the changes being introduced to the NCAA competitions.

The event served as the league’s official launch ahead of the opening of the 2026 season on Sept. 13 at the same venue.

Among the highlights of the press conference was the presentation of the new championship trophy, which will be at stake in the NCAA basketball competition.

San Beda University will serve as the host school for Season 102 as participating teams prepare for another battle for collegiate basketball supremacy.

The upcoming campaign is expected to showcase a mix of established standouts and emerging players seeking to make an impact for their respective schools.

With the formal launch completed, attention now shifts to the Sept. 13 opening ceremony, which is scheduled for 1 p.m. at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Teams are expected to use the remaining days to complete their preparations before the NCAA officially gets the new season underway.
