JONAH SABETE, DJANEL CHENG, CIENNE CRUZ REUNITES WITH PETRO GAZZ; NICOLE TIAMZON JOINS ANGELS

Jonah Sabete, Djanel Cheng, and Cienne Cruz will be reunited with Petro Gazz Angels for their refueled 2022 team roster in the upcoming Premier Volleyball League (PVL) new season.

/ 12 January 2022

The Angels welcomed the three players on Monday in a post on their social media pages.

“Reunited back and ready to work it out for our #Refueled2022 team roster! Welcome back, Angels! Let’s do this!” Petro Gazz wrote.

Sabete, Cheng, and Cruz were in the lineup of Petro Gazz during their successful 2019 season including the Reinforced Conference championship campaign.

Both Sabate and Cheng played in the PVL Open Conference held in Ilocos Norte last year for Sta. Lucia, however, the team has decided to take a leave for the upcoming season.

Meanwhile, Cruz, the twin sister of Petro Gazz team manager Camille, is back to protect the floor defense of the Angels once again after helping the squad reach back-to-back Finals in 2019 and securing the  Best Libero award during the 2018 Open Conference.

Their return will help the team to fill the positions left by Arado, Ria Meneses, Ces Molina, Jerrili Malabanan, Alina Bicar, Mean Mendrez, Jessey De Leon, Ivy Perez, and Rica Enclona, who took off with the squad after their contracts expired.

The team manager shared last week that Petro Gazz is determined to surpass their bronze medal finish last year with the help of their new members who will be introduced in the coming days.

Nicole Tiamzon joins Petro Gazz Angels

Petro Gazz also brought Nicole Tiamzon to the squad ahead of the 2022 PVL season.

The Angels introduced Tiamzon as their new player in the team via its social media accounts on Tuesday.

The former University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons was the fourth player officially unveiled by Petro Gazz.

Tiamzon was a former member of Perlas Spikers prior to joining her new team.
