BOSTON — In Game 7 of the Eastern Conference finals, the Miami Heat emerged victorious over the Boston Celtics with a final score of 103-84.

Jimmy Butler played a key role in the Heat’s victory, scoring 28 points, while Caleb Martin contributed 26 points and 10 rebounds.

The game took place on Monday (Tuesday in Manila), marking Miami’s second appearance in the NBA Finals within four seasons.

The Heat’s path to the finals was not without its challenges.

They initially built a commanding 3-0 series lead but allowed the Celtics to mount a fierce comeback, tying the series at 3-3.

However, Miami demonstrated resilience and determination, regaining their form in Game 7 to secure the victory and seal their spot in the finals.

Miami’s opponent in the NBA Finals will be the Denver Nuggets, who emerged as the champions of the Western Conference.

The Nuggets earned their place in the finals after sweeping the Los Angeles Lakers on May 22. With Game 1 set to take place in Denver on Thursday night, both teams will prepare for an exciting clash to determine the ultimate NBA champion.

Notably, the Miami Heat’s achievement of reaching the finals as a No. 8 seed is remarkable, as it marks the first time since the 1999 New York Knicks that an eighth-seeded team has advanced to compete for the championship. This further highlights the Heat’s resilience and ability to overcome the odds.

While the Boston Celtics put up a valiant effort in attempting to become the first team in NBA history to advance after falling behind 0-3 in a best-of-seven series, their journey ultimately came to an end in Game 7.

Derrick White, who played a pivotal role in Game 6, scored 18 points for the Celtics, but it was not enough to secure the win.

Jaylen Brown contributed 19 points and eight rebounds, but struggled from beyond the arc, shooting just 1 for 9 from three-point range.

Additionally, Jayson Tatum, known for his record-breaking 51-point performance in Game 7 against Philadelphia in the conference semifinals, battled through an ankle injury sustained in the opening play of the game, finishing with 14 points and 11 rebounds after playing 42 minutes.

With the Miami Heat’s victory over the Boston Celtics, they now set their sights on the Denver Nuggets in the highly anticipated NBA Finals matchup.

Both teams will bring their best efforts to compete for the prestigious title of NBA champion.
