GUILLIAN QUINES FACES SUSPENSION AFTER EJECTION, POTENTIALLY ENDING HIGH SCHOOL CAREER
MANILA — Guillian Quines’ high school basketball career may have come to an abrupt end after an ejection during the NCAA Season 100 juniors’ basketball tournament on Monday.
The Greenies star was thrown out late in their game against Emilio Aguinaldo College, an incident that triggered an automatic one-game suspension.
This suspension will apply to LSGH’s crucial Final Four match against second-seeded Colegio de San Juan de Letran, who hold a twice-to-beat advantage.
Quines’ absence would be a significant blow to the Greenies, who are already facing a tough challenge in their do-or-die encounter.
Despite the setback, LSGH is determined to appeal the suspension.
The team’s management is seeking to have the ruling overturned so Quines can play in the pivotal game.
However, if the suspension stands and LSGH fails to defeat Letran, Quines’ tenure in the juniors’ league could come to a heartbreaking close without a chance for a deciding Game 2.
In an interview, Quines expressed his disappointment over the situation but remained focused on the team’s next steps.
“Parang na-dismaya lang din ako sa nangyari at sa ginawa ko. Nagfo-focus pa rin naman ako sa last game namin and ‘yung nangyaring tawag sa akin ia-appeal pa naman daw ng staff namin. Focused lang ako sa pwedeng mangyari,” he said. [I’m dismayed at what happened and what I did. But I’m still focused on our last game and the call that was made, our staff said they will appeal. I’m still focused on what could happen.]
As the Greenies prepare for their upcoming clash with Letran, the fate of Quines’ high school basketball career remains uncertain. Fans are hopeful that his suspension will be lifted, giving the talented guard one final chance to shine on the court.
