Ginebra bubble-bound; eyes on reclaiming PH Cup Championship

Barangay Ginebra has arrived at Quest Hotel on Tuesday to officially start their quest on vying for the All-Filipino Cup title.

The Gin Kings were among the second batch to arrive at Quest Hotel together with other PBA teams Terra Firma Dyip, NLEX, Blackwater, and Alaska.

Coach Tim Cone will have an intact lineup for the season, however, with the exception of Greg Slaughter.

Slaughter’s contract had already expired and opted not to renew with the franchise earlier this year.

On the other hand, King of the Kings Mark Caguioa had already announced prior to the restart of the season that this will be his last run for Ginebra.

Ginebra will vie for the championship cup to end its 13-year drought for the All-Filipino title.

Even with San Miguel Beermen reigning supremacy in the league, the winningest head coach thought that this season would be unpredictable.

“I think it’s a wide-open field. Probably for the first time in five, six years, the All-Filipino is up for grabs. I don’t think there’s a decided favorite out there but I think any team can step up,” Cone told Coaches Unfiltered.

Following the health protocols set by PBA, players and coaching staff were to undergo PCR testing upon arrival and a 24-hour quarantine.
