GILAS CADETS BULANADI, MIKE NIETO STAY FOR THIRD WINDOW OF FIBA CUP 2021

Gilas Pilipinas secured the full commitment of the young cadets Allyn Bulanadi and Mike Nieto to gun the team in the upcoming third window of FIBA Cup 2021 in February to be hosted by the Philippines.

“One more year for flag and country,” Bulanadi, posted on his Facebook post, delaying his PBA dream.

From the moment Bulanadi had experienced playing Basketball, it was then that he knew that one of his goals was to represent the country and that dream materialized last year.

However, Bulanadi suffered from a finger injury that caused him to be cut from the line-up in the November window but now he had another chance to retaliate from the dream-delay.

“So here I am grateful for the trust and opportunity given to me by SBP to fulfill that lifelong dream and once and for all finish this unsettled business. I promise to work harder to make you all proud and not waste this precious opportunity of a lifetime,” he shared.

On the other hand, Nieto announced yesterday his decision to play for Gilas and signed a one year contract.

With this, the Nieto twins will be seen on the same court once again. Mike played in a victory-second game against the Thais, contributing 8 points, 2 assists, and 1 rebound.

The Gilas team will still have the same players they had in the last window, but this time, without Kobe Paras in the line-up.

Nonetheless, young cadets will be a team hard to be reckoned with as PBA players joined the team—Kiefer Ravena, Raul Soyud, Troy Rosario, Roger Pogoy, Justin Chua, and CJ Perez.

Moreover, the team is anticipating the forces of Dwight Ramos and NBA G League player Kai Sotto to gun the roster.
