Initially, de Murga pulled out of the 25-man roster for the joint qualifiers because he was not able to secure his Chinese visa on time.

With the announcement of changes in venue from Suzhou, China to Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, the defender will now be able to suit up for the Azkals.

“Since the venue has been moved to Dubai I’m able again to join the National Team,” De Murga said in a tweet yesterday.

On the other hand, midfielder Ott has also been called up to join the Philippine national football team.

“Melaka United FC midfielder Manuel Ott has been called up to join Philippines National Squad in Sharjah, UAE to play in the remaining matches of Group A in the second round of the 2022 World Cup Qualifier/2023 Asian Cup qualification,” read the translation of the statement released by the football club.

Azkals have two days of preparation left before they resume their campaign for the FIFA qualifying matches.

The Philippines will play China on June 8, Guam on June 11, and Maldives on June 15.
