The Filipina tennis sensation settled, for the third straight time, for a quarterfinal finish in an International Tennis Federation (ITF) tournament.

Their W25 quarterfinal match on Court 3 of the Grenoble Tennis Club began with the world No. 220 Chwalinska overpowering the No. 903 Eala in the first set.

Later on, Eala found her groove in the second set that tied the notch to a third game, by taking a 4-3 lead but later yielded to Chwalinska.

The 19-year-old Polish player gained her momentum in the middle of the set to close out the match in 3 straight games.

The game wrapped up in one hour and twenty minutes, in which Chwalinska is set to go against either 6th seed Clara Tauson of Denmark or qualifier Maryna Zanevska of Belgium in the semifinals.

Prior to Eala’s loss, the 15-year-old Filipina bested two top 200 players: World No. 190 Laura-Ioana Paar of Romania, 6-3, 4-6, 6-4, in in the first round and world No. 164 Cristina Bucsa of Spain, 2-6, 6-3, 7-6, in the second.

Despite the exit, Eala, however, will have the chance to deal with two same tournaments and two $60,000 events due to ITF’s Junior Exempt Program after ending the year as the No.3 ranking in the juniors circuit.

Ella’s appearance in Friday’s Grenoble quarters was her fourth straight professional quarterfinal stint of the year, aside from her journey at the 3-leg Spanish tournament, W15 Manacor ITF Rafa Nadal Academy by Movistar World Tennis Tour by LG.

Eala is still ranked at No. 3 in the world juniors ranking and is placed at 903rd in the WTA rankings following her win in the women’s singles pro title last month in the first leg of the W15 Manacor in Mallorca, Spain.

The Filipina netter is now headed to go back to Spain for her run in the W25 Manacor which is slated to begin on March 1.
