ALEX EALA GOES CASTELLON PRO, DEBUTS BIG WIN OVER ALBA MARIN
The Filipina tennis sensation Alex Eala is off to a hot start in the 2020 W15 Castellon pro tournament subsequent to its victory against the 24-year-old Spaniard Alba Carrillo Marin.
The tennis prodigy has impressed us once again as she opened a superb win in the W15 pro campaign, prevailing the much experienced Alba Carrillo Marin on Tuesday, November 3.
Eala defeated Marin in straight sets, 6-1, 7-6, and advanced to the 2nd round of the pro tournament.
Eala stands at World No. 2 in the Girls, while Marin is currently ranked No. 56 at the ITF Women’s World Tennis Tour Rankings.
Eela started the game with authority, though Marin broke serve to cut Eala’s deficit to 3-1, but did not wither and scored three-straight games to close out the first set.
In the second frame, Marin gained her composure as she went up 3-1, but Eala managed to tie the game and found her momentum closing the match.
The 15-year-old tennis ace will next face 17-year-old Russian Oksana Selekhmeteva on Thursday (Philippine time).
Eala’s team shared that they are into joining more pros and juniors tournaments this year.
Moreover, the Rafa Nadal Academy scholar, who is fresh from her historic semifinals stint, is persevering in gaining more points in her hopes of clinching the world no. 1 spot.
