SCHOOL TEACHER APPEALS TO ROBREDO

/ 2 December 2021

A TEACHER from Butuan City appealed to Vice President Leni Robredo to reconsider her stance on the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict.

In an open letter posted by the Alliance of Concerned Teachers – Philippines, Lai Consad said that she is worried about Robredo’s sudden expression of support to the task force.

This came after Robredo met with top officials of the military and said that she supports the mandate of the agency.

Consad said that she and other teachers have been harrased by the panel.

Robredo’s spokesman, Barry Gutierez, clarified that the Vice President is still for the task force’s abolition but she does not want to abandon the local development programs being implemented by the agency.
