THE PROFESSIONAL Regulation Commission in Region 12 has started preparations for the holding of exams for teachers in September this year.

The exam will be held in four batches and will start on September 26, Raquel Abrantes, PRC Region 12 director, said.

There are at least 7,900 examinees.

“The first batch is scheduled on September 26 and the succeeding ones in January 30, March 27, and June 26 next year. To prevent the spread of Covid19, the examinees and examination personnel will be required to undergo reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction tests,” Abrantes said.

She met with Koronadal City Mayor Eliordo Ogena early this week to discuss the preparations and arrangements for the test.

Abrantes said the PRC negotiated with the Department of Education office in Koronadal City for the use of some public schools as examination sites.

“We requested the allocation of some 287 classrooms and 574 teachers who will serve as examination personnel. Among the schools being eyed is the Koronadal National Comprehensive High School,” she said.
