SOME 61,000 college students in Cebu have been vaccinated against Covid19, the Commission on Higher Education said.

Regional Director Maximo Aljibe said that of the 300,000 students in the region, 61,000 have been inoculated.

Aljibe encouraged local government units to vaccinate students.

“Sundin n’yo ang ginawa ni Mayor Rama sa Cebu. Bakunahan na natin ang ating mga estudyante,” he said.

Medical students, as well as those taking up  tourism and maritime courses were given priority, according to acting City Health Officer Jeffey Ibones.

The city aims to vaccinate all students so that HEIs can resume face-to-face classes as soon as possible.
