/ 8 August 2021

THE BUREAU of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Regional Field Office 12 gave the Mindanao State University-General Santos City College of Fisheries a financial grant of P1.3 million for its hatchery project.

The project is dubbed ‘Rehabilitation of Community-based Hatchery Project’, which aims to strengthen the fisheries research in the region.

It also intends to encourage students to take courses in fisheries, according to the school.

Officials from the university met with representatives from BFAR RFO 12 in a turn-over ceremony at the College of Fisheries Laboratory & Research Station in GenSan over the weekend.

BFAR RFO 12 Regional Director Alfeo G. Piloton also assured continuous support to MSU.

“This is not the last support we will give you…BFAR cannot stand alone that’s why we need the help and support of MSU,” Piloton said.
