AT LEAST 24 individuals are facing murder complaints for the killing of Far Eastern University football player Keith Absalon and his cousin, the Police Regional Office 5 said on Wednesday.

Keith and Nolven Absalon were killed in a blast perpetrated by the NPA last June 6. Also injured in the incident was Nolven’s 16-year-old son.

Police Major Malu Calubaquib, spokesperson of PRO 5, said that one of the suspects was identified as Mariel Suson y Cañete, a 22-year-old teacher in Kabungahan Elementary School in Cawayan town.

Calubaquib said that Suson was arrested on June 22 in Purok 4, Barangay Anas by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Arnelo Mesa of the Masbate City Regional Trial Court last June 18. The teacher is now detained at the Masbate City police station, she added.

The official said the teacher is also facing a complaint for the killing of Reinerio Villamar, also in Masbate City, on April 22.

She said Suson is the daughter of Rogelio Suson a.k.a Manong/Julio, who is allegedly a high ranking official of the New People’s Army in Masbate.

The others charged in Absalon’s killing were Eddie dela Peña Rosero, alias Ka Star; Lara Lagac, alias Ka Ivan and Kian; Sonny Diamos; Eddie Basical Eser, alias Ka Nono; Mario Esparaguerra, alias Ka Mayong; Capitalio Mallo alias Ka M.I.; Diolito Ochoco Medina, alias Ka Michael and Uno; Arlene Salazar Rance; Lloyd Mores Escorel; Ronel Plana Rodio, alias Ka Moting; Jomar Tugbo, alias Ka Alden; Jemuel Dublin; Allan Manlapas Goyala; Dolores Rapsing Bilibit, alias Ka Oyeng; Jhun Rapsing Bilibit, alias Ka Paka; Lenie Cabarles, alias Ka Onang; Richard Laurio, alias Ka Nonem; Rolly Hermina; Jesmar Noel Jesmar, alias Ka Jesmar; Marla Cańete Suson; Maila Cańete Suson; Gilbert Turing, and Allan Sabala Uling.

Meanwhile, PRO 5 director Police Brigadier General Jonnel Estomo vowed to immediately locate the other suspects.

“Sa ating pagsisikap isa-isa nating huhulihin ang mga wanted na ito at hindi natin hahayaang mamuhay sila nang malaya sa kabila ng pagdurusa ng pamilyang naulila dahil sa hindi makatarungang gawain ng mga ito,” Estomo said.
