SENATOR Christopher “Bong” Go called for justice, stronger school security, and immediate government action to prevent similar tragedies following the deadly shooting at Banga National High School in South Cotabato.

Go extended his condolences to the families of the victims, noting that the Banga Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) reported three fatalities and seven people injured in the incident.

The senator said the shooting was the third school-related shooting following recent incidents in Tacloban City and Zamboanga City.

He urged the Executive Department, the Department of Education, the Philippine National Police, and other law enforcement agencies to act decisively.

Go also renewed his call for the passage of Senate Bill No. 2413, or the Safe Schools and Violence Prevention Bill, which seeks to establish a comprehensive national safety framework for schools.

He appealed for a thorough investigation, accountability for those responsible, and stronger preventive and security measures nationwide, stressing that schools must remain “zones of peace and learning” where students can study without fear.
