/ 21 March 2021

THE LANDBANK of the Philippines and the Davao del Norte State College partnered to give farmers ample knowledge on financial literacy.

DNSC said the program aims to give farmers ‘agriprenuership’ skills.

“The program aims to improve farmers’ financial management skills and create ‘agriprenuership’ and improve the cooperative’s capacity to deliver quality services to its membership, positively impacting their business performance and operations,” DNSC said on its website.

“The training content includes the methodology of sound financial and income management, responsible credit management, understanding the value chain of their crop, basic entrepreneurial skills for farmers, and the importance of managing risks in agriculture,” it added.

DNSC said Landbank tapped the college for its expertise in the field of Agriculture, Entrepreneurship, and Business.

The program targets to train at least 3,000 farmers from the municipality of Talaingod. It has a funding of approximately P700,000.

The training will last until the final quarter of 2021, DNSC said.
