DSSC MOURNS PASSING OF FORMER DAVAO DEL SUR GOVERNOR

THE DAVAO del Sur State College mourned the passing of former Gov.  Douglas Cagas who died of Covid19 complications on Thursday.

The DSSC sent its condolences to the family of the former official.

“Our deepest sympathies and sincerest condolences go out to his family and his wife, Congresswoman Mercedes ‘Didi’ Cagas, and son Vice Governor Marc Cagas. May God give them the comfort and peace that they need in this difficult time,” the university said on Facebook.

“Gov. Dodo brought so many gifts to the lives of the people of Davao del Sur especially the gift of kindness and passionate leadership particularly providing financial support to many Capitol Scholars. We, at Davao del Sur State College, will never forget his legacy in serving the province of Davao del Sur,” it added.

Atty. Ria Fe Cagas-Fernandez, the governor’s niece, announced Cagas’ passing on social media.

Cagas was rushed to the Medical Center of Digos Cooperative Hospital on June 3.
