DOST INSTALLS STARBOOKS IN OLONGAPO CITY SCHOOLS
TO PROVIDE students access to science and technology materials, the Department of Science and Technology established digital science libraries in five public schools in Olongapo City.
The DOST Central Luzon installed Science and Technology Academic and Research-Based Openly Operated Kiosk Stations or STARBOOKS.
“STARBOOKS has facilitated students’ research activities as they now have access to science and technology-based information previously available only in big school libraries,” DOST-3 Regional Director Juluis Caesar Sicat said.
The recipients of the STARBOOKS were the Olongapo City National High School, New Cabalan National High School, Olongapo City Elementary School, New Cabalan Elementary School and Sergia Soriano Esteban Integrated School-SPED Center.
STARBOOKS is the first Philippine Science Digital Library that functions as an offline library with text and video materials on various subject matters.
It has digitized technology resources, researches and dissertations, investigatory projects, video lessons in science and math subjects and other materials for instruction and research.
