/ 15 September 2020

THE DEPARTMENT of Information and Communications Technology helped empower Bicol Region and MIMAROPA, which comprises the provinces of Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and Palawan, by establishing the 45 Tech4ED sites.

It also installed 100 live sites in these regions and in the island of Rapu-rapo in Albay.

The department’s Tech4ED program aims to strengthen the use of information and communications technology in underserved areas, targeting to help students, teachers, out-of-school youth and other sectors.

The DICT also continues to provide WiFi sites as part of its drive to provide free WiFi for all.

The DICT Luzon Cluster 3 also provided digital training on social media awareness for students, teachers and parents.

“In the midst of an unprecedented health crisis that the country is continuously overcoming, the DICT LC3 is able to work beyond the challenges in the aim of strengthening the national ICT development agenda,” it said.

Tech4ED will help students and teachers cope with blended learning.
