DEPED-ILOILO RECEIVES OVER 6,000 HILIGAYNON BOOKS

THE DEPARTMENT of Education’s office in Iloilo received 6,391 Hiligaynon-written books to be distributed to the students, Schools Division Superintendent Ma. Luz De Los Reyes said.

De Los Reyes said that the books can help boost learning during the pandemic.

The United States Agency for International Development and non-profit RTI International have provided books written in Hiligaynon to schools in Iloilo City.

The collection of Hiligaynon books were intended for Grade 1 students.

The writers, illustrators and editors were the teachers from various schools in the city.

About 20 titles were selected for Grade 1 students who are beginning to read.

Meanwhile, over 129,200 of these books were distributed in other parts of Western Visayas including schools in Iloilo, Capiz and Negros Occidental.
