CLASSES in areas under Alert Level 3 in Central Visayas have been suspended because of the surge in Covid19 cases.

Salustiano Jimenez, director of the Department of Education in Region 7, said that the break is from January 24 to 31.

Jimenez disclosed that three teachers, five non-teaching personnel and a student contracted Covid19.

All classes regardless of modality shall be put on hold. The submission of academic requirements and conduct of other teaching-related activities will be moved to a later date.

For late submission of requirements, Jimenez noted that accommodations “must be afforded for those with valid reasons.”

Private schools may exercise their discretion to suspend classes in consultation with the parents.
