/ 10 May 2022

CHEVRON Philippines Inc., in partnership with the American Chamber Foundation Philippines Inc., donated 93 laptops to Lumad scholars.

The donation was coursed through the Jesuit Bukidnon Mission, which supports 100 Lumad scholars.

The Mission received 50 laptops.

JBM’s high school dormitories and one college dormitory each got 40 units for shared usage. Under the authority of the Loyola College of Culion in Palawan, the remaining 10 units have been assigned to the Tagbanua Ministry.

“Through our Energy for Learning initiative, Caltex continues to find ways to support education specially these days where distance learning is the norm in order to ensure the continuity of learning even amidst the pandemic,” CPI Country Chairman Billy Liu said.

“The donation of these laptops will help organizations such as the Jesuit Bukidnon Mission achieve its goals of honing scholars to become future leaders,” he added.

Fr. Ambrosio Flores, SJ, Bukidnon Mission superior and Indigenous People Ministry coordinator,  thanked Chevron for its donation.

“With much gratitude, we acknowledge the donation of 50 Lenovo ThinkPads provided by Chevron Philippines Inc. in partnership with the American Chamber Foundation Inc. We also thank Business Process Outsourcing International Inc. for generously providing the needed operating system and Microsoft Office for the computers,” he said.
