THE CORDILLERA Administrative Region leads the statistics of vaccinated students and employees in all universities and colleges nationwide, according to an official of the Commission on Higher Education.

CHED-CAR Covid19 vaccination focal personnel Dr. Jimmy Catanes said the increase in inoculation turnout was due to the agency’s aggressive campaign.

Through the vaccination week program from November 4 to 11, Catanes noted 91 percent or 7,594 of HEI personnel and 47 percent or 52,603 students in the region received their jabs.

“The local government units with the support of the DOH-CHED CAR are committed to continuously vaccinate all college students in the region,” he said.

The official added other HEIs are scheduled to conduct their respective ceremonial vaccination on Nov 15 to 19.

Earlier, CHED Chairman Prospero De Vera III said more than one million learners have received at least one dose.

De Vera noted the commission hopes to vaccinate at least 80 percent of tertiary students by the end of November.
