CHED ACCREDITS LIGAO COMMUNITY COLLEGE

THE COMMISSION on Higher Education has accredited the Ligao Community College in Albay as a Higher Education Institution.

Aside from the accreditation, the college also received a Certificate of Eligibility for Free Access to Quality Tertiary Education.

CHED Chairman Popoy de Vera, Unified Financial Assistance System for Tertiary Education Act OIC Executive Director Ryan Estevez and CHED Regional Director Freddie Bernal conferred the recognition during the Gawad Parangal for Local Universities and Colleges in the Bicol Region at New Blossoms Function Hall, Daraga, Albay.

The accreditation of the college was supported by Ligao City Mayor Patricia Gonzalez-Alsua, members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod headed by City Vice Mayor Ted Residilla, Jr., Committee on Education chairperson Hon. Helen M. Abalos, LiComCo Board of Trustees, Former OIC College Administrator Jorge Rabe, OIC College Administrator Jovert Ofracio and LiComCo faculty and administrative staff.

Earlier, the community college was also accredited by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority. It can now offer Technical and Vocational Education and Training programs.
