BULACAN STATE U CAMPUSES GET FREE WIFI HOTSPOTS

THE DEPARTMENT of Information and Communications Technology installed free WiFi sites in five campuses of the Bulacan State University for distance learning.

The campuses that got free WiFis were the main campus in Malolos, Meneses campus in Bu-lakan, Sarmiento campus in San Jose del Monte, Bustos campus and Hagonoy campus.

The local government units pushed for the activation of the Free Wi-Fi sites in BULSU campuses before the opening of classes.

The DICT has installed more than 4,000 free WiFi nationwide. It targets to set up 10,000 WiFi hotspots by the end of the year and 104,000 in 2023.

Public schools and state universities and colleges were among the institutions given priority  as the country shifted to distant education. Public hospitals, rural health units and Covid19 isolation facilities also got free WiFi spots.

The DICT continues to install free hotspots despite the pandemic under its project Free WiFi for all.
