BIÑAN SETS UP WIFI SYSTEMS FOR STUDENTS

/ 8 October 2020

THE CITY government of Biñan in Laguna province has launched a free WiFi system for all students in its 24 barangays to help them access online learning materials for distance learning.

During the project launch at Biñan National High School in Barangay Langkiwa, Mayor Arman Dimaguila said the students deserve an accessible and quality education amid the pandemic.

“With this project, naniniwala ako na kung ano ang klase ng edukasyon na kaya kong ibigay sa aking mga anak, that is also the kind of education na gusto nating ibigay sa mga public school students,” Dimaguila said.

To access the free internet, students must be within the 200-meter radius of each router and must register their gadget through a portal to receive a password.

Students in Barangays Casile, Dela Paz, Langkiwa, and Malaban are already enjoying the free WiFi system, while other barangays will have their routers installed soon.

The blended learning scheme was implemented when classes in public schools started on Monday, October 5.
