/ 19 May 2022

ABOUT 6,000 students in Dumaguete have joined face-to-face classes, the Department of Education said.

In a press briefing with Education Secretary Leonor Briones, Dr. Gregorio Cyrus Elejorde, superintendent of the DepEd-Dumaguete division of schools, said that 10 of the 25 schools nominated conducted face-to-face classes.

These are two secondary schools and eight primary schools.

“In the next few days, we are expecting for its (face-to-face classes) progressive expansion and we expect to create some kind of ripple reaction,” Elejorde said.

The official emphasized that DepEd-Dumaguete is very particular on following health regulations.

He expressed hope that parents and other stakeholders will continue supporting the resumption of in-person classes.
