VICE PRESIDENT and Education Secretary Sara Duterte slammed the Alliance of Concerned Teachers for supporting the week-long transport strike, saying that the support shows the group’s true colors.

“ACT supporting this transport strike, and shamelessly harping twisted justifications for it, only betrays its true colors — that it is a group that does not really serve the interest of students and teachers,” the vice president said in a statement Sunday.

Duterte added that the Department of Education’s learning recovery priority agenda does not include the “pointless weeklong transport strike supported by ACT.”

“ACT should know that a week-long transport strike, at this critical point in our efforts to remedy learning losses, is a learning disruption,” she added.

Duterte also challenged the group to show its genuine support to the education sector by working with local government units and other agencies to ensure that the learners can still go to school despite the transport strike.
