VP SARA TELLS GRADUATES NOT TO LOSE HOPE
VICE President and Education Secretary Sara Duterte-Carpio told the graduates of Ismael Mathay Sr. High School in Quezon City never to lose hope in achieving their dreams.
“Do not lose hope…at laging isipin na mayroong pag-asa,” Duterte-Carpio said to the 661 graduates during the 6th Commencement Exercises.
The Vice President also shared her dream to become a doctor,. However, she said God has a different plan for her.
“I dreamed of becoming a doctor, but God had a different plan for me. And God’s plan is something that we cannot possibly change or defy,” she said.
“Minsan sa ating buhay, hindi nagkakatotoo ang ating mga pangarap. Pero hindi tayo dapat na panghinaan ng loob — dahil marahil ay may ibang mas maganda at mas malaking plano ang Diyos para sa atin,” she added.
Duterte-Carpio is a lawyer and a politician and was formerly vice mayor of Davao City.
Aside from the graduates, she also congratulated the parents, teachers and staff of the school.
