VACCINATION OF KIDS DRAWS MIXED REACTIONS

/ 27 January 2022

THE PROPOSED vaccination of minors to help hasten the return of face-to-face classes drew mixed reactions from parents and concerned netizens.

Some parents opposed the mandatory vaccination of kids saying that their children had adverse reactions.

They said that they prefer a vaccine with milder side effects. The Food and Drug Administration issued an Emergency Use Authorization to Pfizer-BioNTech.

Education Secretary Leonor Briones earlier urged public school teachers and children to participate in the vaccination drive of the government.

Briones said that vaccination will provide an additional layer of protection for students once in-person learning resumes.

She also urged eligible teachers to get their booster shots.

The government eyes the vaccination of children aged 5 to 11 in the first week of February.
