UP MED COMMUNITY SEEKS JUSTICE FOR SLAIN ALUMNUS

/ 13 December 2021

A GROUP of medical students from the University of the Philippines Manila denounced the killing of their colleague last December 2.

Dr. Raul Winston Andutan, 60, director of Xavier University-Maria Reyna Hospital, died on the spot after sustaining six gunshot wounds. He was attacked by unidentified assailants in Cagayan de Oro City early this month.

“We, the UP-College of Medicine Community, strongly condemned the recent murderous act on one of our beloved graduates, Dr. Raul Winston Andutan,” UPCM said in a statement.

The group also called on the public to end the “culture of escalating violence” and called on the government to uphold justice.

“We are demanding from the authorities that all perpetrators be apprehended, punished, and held accountable,” the group asserted.

“We affirm our solemn oath to uphold human life, protect human rights, and call for a stop to these killings,” it added.
