TESDA-NCR LAUNCHES TULONG TRABAHO SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
THE TECHNICAL Education and Skills Development Authority launched the Tulong Trabaho Scholarship Program in the National Capital Region.
More than 900 beneficiaries will undergo training in 23 Technical Vocational Institutions. These beneficiaries are displaced workers, repatriated OFWs, out-of-school youth, and employed individuals who are in need of upskilling to expand their capabilities and opportunities at work.
The scholarship program will be utilized to provide training for in-demand, as well as new and emerging skills to produce a competent workforce.
TESDA Director General Isidro Lapeña thanked Senator Joel Villanueva, the author of the Tulong Trabaho Act or RA 11230. He said that the passage of this law enables TESDA to further expand its services.
Villanueva congratulated Lapeña for continuing to promote and develop TVET.
TESDA-NCR, aside from implementing the Tulong Trabaho Program, is working with industries and associations under the priority sectors to develop industry-led training programs and ensure job opportunities after the training, which is the main purpose of the Tulong Trabaho Act.
