THE BUREAU of Corrections and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority have partnered to provide vocational training programs for persons deprived of liberty.

The Memorandum of Agreement was signed on August 6 at the Medium Security Camp, New Bilibid Prison, Muntinlupa City.

C/CSUPT Celso Bravo, OIC, Deputy Director General for Reformation, and Engr. Jovencio Ferrer Jr., Regional Director of TESDA-National Capital Region, signed the MOA.

According to BuCor, the MOA establishes the general terms and conditions for the partnership in providing training to PDLs and shall be known as the “TESDA-BUCOR Partnership on Vocational Training Program.”

“This effort focuses on providing incarcerated individuals with skills and knowledge that support their personal development and future employment once they are released,” said BuCor.

Additionally, BuCor personnel and PDL trainers will undergo training, seminars, and workshops on teaching and handling classes, as well as the use of educational and training materials required to complete the program.
