AKO Bicol Partylist Reps. Elizaldy Co and Raul Angelo Bongalon filed a measure establishing in the municipality of Rapu-Rapu, Albay a Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Training And Assessment Center.

In their House Bill 8611, the solons said the convenience and availability of the training center in the municipality of Rapu-Rapu will provide the out-of-school youth with the opportunity to develop themselves to be self-reliant and learn new techniques geared towards earning a livelihood.

Likewise, it provides the necessary atmosphere where inborn talents are developed into self-reliant individuals.

The solons further said that through the center, high school students, college students, and ordinary citizens who want to continue their education, will avail of accessible, high quality, and efficient technical education and skills development programs.

Based on the measure, the Rapu-Rapu TESDA Training and Assessment Center will provide technical-vocational education and training programs to students and residents from low-income families and out-of-school youth, including persons with disabilities and indigenous peoples.

This is to help them become productive, self-reliant, and globally competitive labor assets.
