SOLON URGES YOUTH TO DREAM BIGGER

/ 26 May 2026

HOUSE Speaker Faustino Dy III encouraged young Filipinos to dream bigger, work harder, and believe in their potential as they pursue excellence in sports and life through the 2026 Palarong Pambansa 2026.

Dy said he hopes the annual sporting event would inspire more students to push beyond their limits and continue honing their talents.

“Nawa’y magsilbing inspirasyon ang Palarong Pambansa upang mas marami pang kabataan ang mangarap, magsikap, at maniwala sa kanilang kakayahan,” he said.

The week-long competition, being held from May 24 to 31 in Prosperidad, has gathered thousands of student-athletes from different regions across the country.

According to Dy, sports play a vital role in molding disciplined, resilient, and determined young Filipinos while teaching values that go beyond competition.

“Sports has the power to unite communities, inspire excellence, and shape character. Dito nahuhubog ang resiliency, leadership, at fighting spirit na dadalhin ninyo hindi lamang sa laro kundi maging sa buhay,” he said.

The Speaker stressed that the Palarong Pambansa is more than a competition for medals and championships, describing it as a celebration of hard work, sacrifice, teamwork, discipline, and perseverance among the youth.

“It goes beyond sports—it is an opportunity for our youth to build character, form lifelong friendships, learn the value of perseverance, and discover how far hard work and determination can take them,” Dy added.

He also commended the dedication and discipline shown by student-athletes throughout their journey to the national competition.

“Sa bawat ensayo, bawat pawis, bawat sakripisyo, at bawat laban, ipinapakita ninyo ang tunay na diwa ng sportsmanship at ang lakas ng kabataang Pilipino,” he said.

Dy reminded participants that qualifying for the national games is already an achievement regardless of the final results.

“Hindi man lahat ay mag-uuwi ng medalya, lahat ng nakarating dito ay maituturing nang panalo dahil sa dedikasyon at tiyagang inyong ipinakita,” he added.

The House leader also recognized the support of coaches, teachers, parents, volunteers, and organizers in helping shape the athletes’ success and development.

He concluded by encouraging the participants to compete with integrity and proudly represent their schools, communities, and regions.
